By Car:
A system of road signs leads directly to the Museum. From the New Jersey Turnpike, take Exit 15W to 280 West. From the Garden State Parkway and Routes 24, 78 and 280, take
the Newark exit marked Downtown/Arts. Once in the Downtown/Arts district, follow the purple signs directly to the Museum. Visitor parking is available for a nominal fee in the adjacent Newark Museum Parking Lot. Enter from Washington Street or Central Avenue.
By Train:
AMTRAK (1-800-USA-RAIL) trains, New Jersey Transit (1-973-762-5100; 1-800-772-2222) trains and buses, and PATH (1-800-234-PATH) trains stop at Newark's Penn Station. New Jersey Transit trains also stop at Broad Street Station. Once in Newark, take The Loop shuttle bus to the Museum. The Newark city subway Washington Street stop (at Raymond Boulevard) is four blocks south of the Museum.
By Loop Shuttle:
New Jersey Transit's purple Loop shuttle buses provide service every few minutes from Broad Street and Penn Station to the Museum, NJ PAC, the historic Ironbound district and other business and cultural centers in Newark. One-way fare is $1.
By Bus:
Buses #13 and #27 from Broad Street Station stop near the Museum at Broad Street and Washington Place.
Bus #44 from Penn Station stops at Washington Street and Central Avenue.
