[01-0558] Does any one have any information on Roehm & Son? This retailer mark appears on a serving piece in the Palm pattern by Frank Whiting. Thanks! IP: Logged |

Thank you for posting the photo of the Roehm & Son mark. The mark on my piece is identical. I haven't been able to locate any information on this company in any of my sources. IP: Logged |

Circa 1915, Roehm & Son is listed as a Jeweler in Detroit, Michigan. Also listed in Detroit as a maker/seller of badges, emblems & medals was Edward R. Roehm, 240 Woodward Ave. I don't know what the relationship (if any) Edward has to Roehm & Son. Both are out of business. IP: Logged |

Robert J F Roehm is listed in the 1890-1 Detroit city directory at 30 Elizabeth E under the business name Roehm & Son. Robert had two sons, Edward and Frank who were born in Michigan around 1864 and 1865. In 1910, Frank has a jewelry store, not sure if his father is still living at this time. The father was born about 1835 in Germany. It appears that Frank went into business with his father while Edward went into Fraternity Pin manufacturing on his own. Robert J F Roehm is in "The Book of Detroiters : a biographical dictionary of leading living men of the city of Detroit" which was published by A N Marquis and Company, Chicago, 1908. IP: Logged |
