Many decorative one ounce bars are minted for collectors and those who wish to purchase precious metals for use against inflation or as an investment. Sometimes they are coins that are struck using old dies dating many years back. The term silver to describe the bullion usually means that it is fine or .999 pure silver and the sterling bullion is minted using sterling or .925 silver. I often will purchase fine silver bullion to make my own bezel material in setting a stone. Hope this helps. IP: Logged
