Sometime ago I was sent or stumbled upon a step by step article describing how to make hollow sterling beads/balls/spheres. I have been going crazy trying to find it again. What I remember is it was by a woman and it was a very easy to understand step by step with drawings.

At the Baltimore Antique Show, I met a jewelry dealer who was fascinated by her graduated hollow spheres ball necklace. She was very interested in learning about how it was made. I immediately said I remembered seeing the article and would find it and forward it to her.

I am not having any luck finding the article. frown

If you have the article or something similar please let me know. smile

There is a website describing one persons method of making hollow copper spheres. I cannot find the website that described making silver ones but that was a long time ago. I would imagine one of the silversmiths could answer that easily. There are machines to do this but I assume at some expense. One last comment. I always thought there had to be a hole left in the ball or the pressure buildup would prevent full solder coverage. Go to a jewelry supply house and buy a dapping block, not much in the way of cost.

Thanks for the prompt replies.

The link is not as well done as the one I am looking for but it is good enough for me to forward.

Thank you
