[01-2948] Nestled beside Newark's 360 acre Branch Brook Park designed by the firm of Frederick Law Olmsted is the Forest Hill Historic district. From the 1870's to the 1920's, generations of wealthy Newarkers built hundreds of stately homes here. Among these was a three story eight bedroom house built around 1890 for Louis Comfort Tiffany. Despite it's generous size (5100 square feet plus a 1600 square foot basement), it would have been modest for Tiffany thereby raising the question of whether the house was built for one of the managers of the nearby Tiffany factory that opened on Highland Avenue in 1892.
