I am new to this. I am trying to get info on a silver cuff like bracelet (sorry no pic available now)I bought for my girlfriend. I have been able to determine from hallmarks that the bracelet is sterling silver, was made in Birmingham England (anchor mark)either in 1806/7 or 1883/4 or 1908/9 based upon the year stamp of "i" and it has what I believe is a duty mark, which I believe rules out 1908/9 year. I was told by antique store that the person selling it stated its was from late victorian period. But the Maker's Mark is "P.P. & Co." I was hoping someone could give me some information on this Maker's Mark short of me having to buy a book. I just bought this last week and have spent the past few hours researching. Any help? Thank in advance for any help. IP: Logged |

Sounds like it could be Payton, Pepper & Co which would fit an 1880s date. [This message has been edited by Patrick Vyvyan (edited 11-08-2004).] IP: Logged |
