I am brand new in trying to understand markings on jewelry. I acquired a silver necklace at an estate sale and would like to understand what the TM-11 925 mean. Please help. Is there a reference or way to contact the government registry offices of different countries to get this info. Thank you. IP: Logged |

It was made of sterling silver in Taxco, Mexico after 1979. The TM-11 mark is the workshop number; the T stands for Taxco. This marking system was put into use ca 1980, when use of the eagle shaped assay mark was discontinued. IP: Logged |

Thank you for the info. Is there a way to find out who the artist is or the name of the workshop? ------------------ IP: Logged |
