[26-2076] I left my comfort zone of Victorian sterling and bought these ice tongs last week at an estate sale to add to my tong collection. The deceased favored Scandinavian design and had many pieces of International Sterling Royal Danish holloware and Northern Lights flatware. I have searched and can not identify the maker of these tongs. They are 7 1/2" long. The mark is etched, not stamped in the inside of the bowl.It features a galloping horse inside a shield. There are strange hatch markings below.I would like to determine the maker and country of origin for these tongs. Any help wold be appreciated. Thanks. IP: Logged |

Thanks so much for your identification. I guess my search should have been more focused on the "R" rather than the galloping horse and on US makers rather than thinking they were Scandinavian. IP: Logged |

and glad because it was completely unknown for me - and I searched my mind over and over again with no hit. So that was why. IP: Logged |

I simply recognized the symbol from Rainwater's 'Encyclopedia...' - happy to help. IP: Logged |
