Since you guys were oh so helpful with my other questions, I might ask your help in finding any info on John Hasselbring? I've done an internet search & my search yielded very limited results. Any suggestions, other than the Rainwater book??? Thanks in advance, IP: Logged |

(This is an old thread). John Hasselbring was born about 1865 in Germany. He arrived in the port of New York in 1882. He was naturalized at the Kings County Court in 1896 while living at 766 Hart St in Brooklyn. His occupation in 1896 was silversmith. He is listed in the 1888-9 Brooklyn City Directory as a gold beater at 252 Humboldt. In 1900 John Hasselbring was still living in Brooklyn, and his occupation was silversmith. In 1910 he had his own shop. In 1920 John Sr's occupation is listed as none in the U S Federal Census for Oyster Bay, NY, and his son John Jr who is married and living with the family is listed as a silversmith. In the 1930 U S Federal Census for Queens, NY, John Sr's occupation is listed as gardener for a private family. Also in 1930 John Jr was a Civil Engineer employed by Boyce Moto Meter. In 1942 John Jr was employed by Roberts Numbering Machine Company. IP: Logged |
