Hello everyone! Did Simons Brothers use date marks? I have a nut set which I think is most likely 20th century and the mark includes a P on all of the 7 pieces. Thanks! IP: Logged |

The book I have that would normally answer your question is Rainwater's Encyclopedia of American Silver Manufacturers. She is silent on this question. An internet search of "Simons Brothers Philadelphia" does bring up a company with this name that traces their lineage back to 1839 and the original Simons Brothers. They have an email contact address and they may be able to answer your question. They still make thimbles and I believe thimbles were something they made from the very early days of the company. Thanks ahwt! I too had found pretty much the same information and exhausted the available sources. Contacting them is a good idea. Thanks! Kelly IP: Logged |
