WEV's American Silversmiths is an incredible and truly unique resource. It is a genealogical study and is a quick reference for collectors that contains silversmiths, jewelers, watchmakers, and other related craftsmen. Over the many years I have watched WEV's project grow from just a few hundred entries to now more than 7,175. Hardly a week goes by without WEV adding to the list, doing something to better organize or to expand the resources found on the American Silversmiths site. We all have stashes of old silver with makers marks we haven't identified. Be sure to include WEV's American Silversmiths as one of the references you check. To help WEV's project please post in this thread any photos of marks you are unable to resolve when using WEV's American Silversmiths site. Also include any variations in the makers marks. Thank you both for the kind words; it is always nice to hear my little project has been of interest. I would add that I am always interested in suggestions to improve or expand its usefulness. IP: Logged |

Not being the Christmas type, I thought I'd do a new build to celebrate (a few days late) the winter solstice, pushing the total over 7,200. IP: Logged |
