Sweet little teaspoon, c. 1790s-1800s, with a pointed bowl and end, a shellback, and a feathered monogram with an attractive squiggly flourish, marked T.S.

Who is T.S.?

Could be Thomas Shields, active in Philadelphia 1765-1791. However the marks shown for him online have a period in the middle between the T and S whereas yours has a period at the bottom after both the T and the S. (T.S.)

Lovey, spoon Polly, I will look when I have a chance... I believe it's called a Celtic point? And could it be a little before 1790? Let the experts at it!

Unless park is right and it's Thomas Shields (but the marks are different), it's not in Belden, and it's not on wev's site either.

Wev, any ideas?

Sorry, preoccupied and missed this thread.

That said, I have nothing to offer off the top of my head. I will poke around and see if anything pops up.

Is this the same spoon as the one mentioned in this thread?

Thomas Skinner? Spoon
If not - quite a coincidence...

It very well could be--Richard sells silver at a flea market I often go to, and I might well have bought this from him. You'd think I would remember! It's only a year ago. I'll hunt it out of my drawer and compare details.
