Hi, I am considering buying a tea set marked <EP>. Does anyone know who this might be? It is a 20's piece I think Thanks Maury IP: Logged |

EP stands for Extra Plate or ElectroPlate, depending on the company. It doesn't indicate any specific quantity or quality of silver used in the plating, that again varied considerably company to company. All that can be said is that your teaset is silverplate, not sterling. Does it have a maker's name or mark? Perhaps we can tell you a bit more about it. IP: Logged |

Does it really read EP Sterling 950, as your topic title says, or does it just say EP? EP on a piece of silver does normally mean electroplate, but I am intrigued. If it does read EP Sterling 950, please describe the EP mark as precisely as possible. you may be in luck. Brent IP: Logged |
