Previous forums on Sheridan indicated mark is Crown/S/Shield. Company started in 1944. Here is Sheridan printed on a Lion facing right. Is this the same Company?

The earliest record of this company that I can find indicates that they were in business in 1969. Rainwater (1975 and subsequent editions) indicates that the firm was a subsidiary of Lenox, Inc. In 1984, Lenox sold the subsidiary and the new owner sold the firm again in 1991. At that time, the manufacturing facility consisted of three multi-story brick buildings on 4 acres in Taunton. No longer active, the site was declared a hazardous waste site at the end of 1991 and was destroyed by fire in August 1993. Creative Gifts International, Inc. was created from the marketing and distribution assets of Taunton Silversmiths, Inc. The firm is a wholesale importer and distributor. Creative Gifts International, Ltd., is a Hong Kong based partnership which includes a group of Asian producers.

All of these firms use(d) the Sheridan lion trademark, some with "Ltd.", some without. Some marks also include "E. P. Brass" -- electroplated on brass.
