The mark rings no bells with me, for what that's worth. It looks meant to suggest some form of Sheffield plate mark. But does not look exactly like one.

Could this be the mark of Bell Mark Sheffield Silver, Inc. "Fine Silversmiths Since 1785" Peoria, Az

Bradbury's Book of Hallmarks makes the point that the Bell mark was one of those extensively used on EPNS. I have always assumed this to mean that, as far as the UK is concerned, its use was not restricted to any single maker. IP: Logged |
