Hi I have a plate made by Leonard silver it has marks that I want to understand. It has a crown on the left. A shield with LS and EP underneath the shield in the middle. On the right is a lion, head down facing straight ahead with tail down and all feet on the ground. Anyone know what these marks mean?( the crown and Lion) The LS is for Leonard silver and I assume the EP is for electroplated. Thanks for your help. IP: Logged |

Leonard is a mark used by, I believe, Towle. A Mr Leonard was President of the Company in the 80's. Generally it is found on high style popularly priced mass marketed hollow ware. Which can be made pretty much anywhere in the world. My guess would be the mark indicates a certain foreign maker. A lot of Leonard was made in Italy and Spain. You are right about EP meaning plated.
