I have a square silver plate inkwell. The mark on the bottom is a windmill with pipes (used for smoking, on both sides of the windmill). The numbers 3226 are underneath the mark. Any idea who the maker and year are? Each side has about two people on it. The chase work shows pair of women and a pair of men. Their colonial style homes are in the background. Thanks.

Thanks again, wev. I did the search and the information was right there. Scott Martin posted a photo of salt and pepper shakers with the same mark. There was also an explanation of the dutch colonial motif. IP: Logged |

I took another look at the inkwell. I thought each of the four sides were different. They are not. The pattern repeats itself. Machine made. IP: Logged |
