I've been unable to figure out how to send a photo of marks on the bottom of a 2 lb siver chippendale tray circa 1920's for you to see them and maybe help me identify what they are. Could anyone tell me where I could find info on the mark? I've tried all the sites on the Interned I could find. Thanks so much. Anja

Your tray was made by the Forbes Silver Company of Meridien, Connecticut. The company was founded in 1894 as a department of Meridien Britannia Co. for holloware silverplating. Your tray is silver plated, indicated by EPNS. Chippendale is probably the name of the pattern or model. Information available from Rainwater's Encyclopedia of American Silver Manufacturers. Thank you so much for your quick reply. I'm from CT and so is the tray! Anja IP: Logged |
