Can someone help with the following markings? A Genie lamp stamp above the following: R&B S (not Gothic) 2 symbols the first I can't make out the second is a Gothic B BM I,m trying to find the makers name and date of manufacture. IP: Logged |

On old silverplate, R&B is the mark of Rogers and Brothers. Reed & Barton used their full name or Arnbee. I am not sure what a genie lamp is. Could you possibly post a picture? This sounds like a 19th century hair curling iron heater, but could be lots of other things. IP: Logged |

If the lamp has a flame coming from its nozzle, the likleyhood is that the mark is of an English manufacturer, ROBERTS & BELK as the lamp is their trade-mark. They started in the 1860's and are still in existence. IP: Logged |

Its not a coffee pot after all, its a Victorian Hot Water Jug of baluster form with part fluted decoration made by Roberts & Belk in Sheffield 1899 IP: Logged |
