This is all new to me so I'm hoping someone can help me. I just inherited a 5 piece Gorham setting. I have markings on the bottom of each piece and am just trying to find out what I can about it. Thanks alot! The markings are:
Y1201 2 7/8 pint....24
Y1202 2 5/8 pint....29
Y1203
Y1204 3/4 pint

This sounds like a teaset. I don't think anyone will be able to help too much without a picture. The marks you've shown are the factory marks indicating the shape numbers--nothing we can help you with. There would be other marks on the piece that might be useful--but we'd like to see what it looks like.

The set does indeed sound like a tea service. Unfortunately, the numbers do not correspond to any 'pattern' that was designed by Gorham. The set is also silver plate (the Y before the numbers are a good tip off to that). BTW, does the set have a gadroon boarder and very simple in design? If so, it was a late production set made by Gorham sometime between 1950-1970.
