Can someone tell me anything about Royal Manufacturing Co.? I have some silverware marked w/this and Solid Brazil Silver.

The mark is a crown, in the top of the cross (centered), it has what looks like an inverted triangle with a round circle on top of the triangle and what looks like a cross or plus sign + (can't see this very well)... on top of the circle.

Any help will be appreciated.

Hmmm, I've always thought that Brazilian Silver was one of the monikers for Nickel Silver. I quote:
quote:
"Many trade names were developed when nickel silver was at the height of its popularity, and especially in the Sheffield and Birmingham manufactures there was a trend to develop trade names which strongly implied a real silver content, or had "romantic" associations, often alluding to south American silver mines."

(From 21-0554-nickel1.pdf Nickel Silver, German Silver and related alloys)

The Royal Manufacturing Company may simply have been an idealistic trading name for a company involved in EPNS and un-plated Nickel Silver manufacture.

Cheers

Someone at auction currently a collection of c.1890 business letterheads, including according to his description "Royal Manufacturing Co., Philadelphia Silversmiths."

I have seen silverplate marked Royal Mfg Co which would fit this date.
