I did a search and I know my coffee pot is Sheridon silverplate. What does the crown and shield mean? IP: Logged |

The crown and shield are part of the hallmark that identifies a piece as being made by a particular maker, in this case presumably Sheridan Silver Co. The full mark is a crown, S and shield. FYI, Sheridan Silver Co. was incorporated in 1946 in Taunton, Massachusetts. IP: Logged |
