Hi Larry. When you go back to read the posting requirements in the yellow box you will see that you need to add a bit to your first posting here on the forum. Please introduce yourself to the others here just a bit, let us know what your interest in silver is, let us know if you are asking your question as research to sell your object, and please add photos according the process outlined in how to post photos here. Thanks and welcome to the forum. IP: Logged |

My name is Larry and I am trying to do some research on this nice pitcher. Any help will be appreciated as I know nothing about silver but am willing to learn. Is all silver plated considered halloware? Pictures are in my gallery and that address is [snip .. please read the yellow box above] If you can tell me how to link the pictures to the post, that will be great. Thanks in advance Larry IP: Logged |

Nice photos. If you could please let us know your interests in silver, do you collect, or are you a seller, or are you a student of silver, or . . . To answer you basic question, holloware is any metal tableware that is three dimensional and meant to hold something such as tea pots, creamers, salts, candlesticks, sugar bowls, etc. By contrast, flatware is the knives, forks, spoons in their various sizes and designs. I am a seller who wishes to gather information so I may value this piece at a fair price. Internet research for this open pitcher is difficult at best so I am seeking your help in gathering information. Thank you for the information regarding halloware. This pitcher is quadruple plated which gives it a unique attribute I think. Can you shed any knowledge on this. Does the quadruple plating date this item to a certain time frame? IP: Logged |

Hi Larry, thanks for the additional information. If you could please take another look at the second bullet in the yellow box near the top of this page - there are very few rules in this forum, but one of the ones that our kind forum hosts have set is that this is a non-commercial place to simply discuss silver. Many of our members are well known experts and participate here on the this basis. To provide you with one bit of information, your thought about quadruple plating being unusual or special is not correct. best wishes, IP: Logged |
