Hi. I have a Grosvenor Gaye (Epns a1) cutlery set in box. The set is a for a setting of 6 people). I believe this set was made in the 1960's. There is 1 teaspoon missing from the set. I would like to know how much the set is worth. I have attempted to contact antique dealers in Perth, but I'm not getting anywhere. Can anyone give me an indication on what the set is worth? G'day mate. This forum is not a typical internet site in that it is limited to the non-commercial aspects of collecting silver such as discussing how silver was made, how styles developed over time, who were the smiths and factories over time, patterns and overall styles of making silver, etc. When you signed up to post here you agreed to abide by the two basic guidelines here (to be nice, and to not ask for commercial values or appraisals). My best recommendation to help you out would be to spend a bit of time researching on one of the big internet auction sites - being sure to focus on the auctions where the things actually sold and not the asking prices which in many cases are unrealistic. An alternative might be to stop by some local charity shops to see what prices they get for relatively modern used silver plated flatware sets. IP: Logged |
