[01-1555] Hi everyone! I just inherited a couple of sterling silver forks from my father. The round part has a picture of the Eiffel tower on it and the word "headquarters" over it, under the tower is the words "U.S. EUCOM". My understanding is that it was from the Headquarters of the European Command in Paris from the early to mid 1950's....maybe S.H.A.P.E. Anyway, on the back of the fork is the maker mark ....it's a symbol OKA encircled in an oblong shape, with the numbers 90-45 and then an asterisk. Can anyone please help me identify the maker on this, I haven't been successful in my internet searches. Thanks so very much ! IP: Logged |

Your forks were made by 'Otto Kaltenbach' in a place called Altenstein (Germany), a large flatware manufacturer. They are silverplated; the '90' is the mark for standard quality. IP: Logged |
