Dear Sir, We have inherited from our grandmother 2 Kings Pattern sterling silver canteens. Unfortunately we cannot find out the maker in books about English hallmarks. Who is the maker RS? (the date letters are T and U for 1894 and 1895 in one canteen, in the other h and i for 1904/1904) Thank you for your help IP: Logged |

To save Scott,s mailbox and Gerhard the effort: This will be the London silversmith Robert Stebbings. He was responsible for many good quality silver spoons and forks of a particularly heavy nature (usually Old English or Kings pattern). His mark is RS in an oval punch. IP: Logged |
