| George Shiebler produced a wonderful array of insect motif jewelry and silver. Pictured here is an amphora-shaped scent bottle from about 1885. The surface is hammered with a hand-chased eight-legged fly-like creature on one side and hand-chased flowers on the other. I have seen the same Shiebler perfume bottle with both an undecorated, unhammered surface as well as with an ornately hand-chased floral repouss design.
