| The cufflinks shown here are in the same vein as previously shown pieces such as the Shiebler buckle. They are satin-finish silver, and each cufflink depicts a different creature: one a crab, and the other a butterfly. Usually I don't collect the more "appealing" insects like butterflies, but in this case, the combination of creatures seemed unusual. These are quite well made, but alas, unsigned. I have not seen any identical crabs or butterflies on signed pieces to help with an attribution. These are from circa 1885-1890. |
