The Whiting spoon at right, in their very popular Lily of the Valley pattern was the piece that launched my souvenir spoon collection. Aside from the elegant design, this one is engraved "Cora" and the bowl has an etched rendition of the Joliet Penitentiary - was fascinated by the prison commemoration, especially since I'd lived in the Chicago area as a child - souvenir spoons of various types became a new interest.
- British souvenir by Birmingham maker Stokes & Ireland, interestingly, this spoon appears to have the same top as the American piece next to it.
- Fairly common twist stem souvenir by Whiting, this spoon is often found with a palm frond in the bowl.
- Whiting's Lily of the Valley pattern, introduced in 1885.
