John Westervelt salt spoon

This pristine salt spoon is marked with a five point star, lion and the letter D indicating that it was made by John Lawson Westervelt who began working as a silversmith in 1848 in Newburgh, New York. The spoon has a beautiful ribbed vermeil bowl, twist handle and crisp pattern. The piece is .3 oz avoirdupois and 3 5/8 inches long.
