I enjoy collecting bright cut teaspoons and occasionally other implements. I find plenty of tea, demitasse and five o'clock spoons and an occasional fork. What happened to knives? Was the bright cut style preferred just for tea and dessert occasions rather than for meat and potatoes dinners? IP: Logged |

Bright cut was popular from the 1880's to the 1890's. Many patterns of that era did not have hollow handled knives. Check out Evolution of the Place setting" in the index of the collecting Place Settings" forum for a history of knives. Also you may see the discussion on patterns of that period. IP: Logged |
