I have not been successful in finding the jeweler "Raymond Yard" in any books. Can someone give me an idea where to look? He is not mentioned in the book of American Jewelery Manufacturers. I think he produced items in the 20s and 30s, but that is all I've been able to uncover so far. I would really like to know more. Have also looked in many dictionaries/encyclopedias and biographical art books. Any ideas on where to find him would be greatly appreciated. IP: Logged |

Hello Ellen: Did you ever find out anything more about Raymond Yard? Have you seen American jewelry: glamour and tradition, by Penny Proddow (Rizzoli, 1987)? It mentions Yard several times, with illustrations I think. But doesn't give much more info than you have. IP: Logged |

Yard was a high end jeweler in the New York financial district, possibly on Maiden Lane. I'm told they were still in business as recently as 20 year ago. IP: Logged |
