Do you think the "extra tail" is a "B" or a heart?

Scott, I also thought that the tail might be a "B". But I could not come up with any company with the mark, or a similar mark of which this might be a variation. So I guess it is either an unknown maker, or an unknown mark for a known maker. IP: Logged |

June & I were recently in Greece. While there, we kept seeing a decorative treatment on buildings and fences that looked very similar to the mark on this piece of silver. Unfortunately every time we saw these decorations we didn't have a camera or were out of film. As luck would have it, the one time we did have the camera the decoration was the least similar of all that we saw. Nevertheless, here it is: IP: Logged |

Bachrach & Freedman c.1896 of NYC had an interesting little dragon trademark. Maybe this was Bachrach without Freedman. There is not much written in Rainwater about this company, but they did produce sterling silver. And the bookmark has a large area available for its marks, maybe they used a larger variation of this small mark.
Otherwise this piece reminds of Whiting Mfg. Co.'s type of work. IP: Logged |

This is an interesting piece with an interesting mark. Eight and a half years later perhaps someone has figured out whose mark this is. IP: Logged |

I don't know whose mark this is, but the style of the dragon seems to be Asian to my eye. Also, the friars/monks salt and pepper shakers seem to be somewhat crudely cast and fairly modern so I am thinking perhaps this is not a high end maker. IP: Logged |

Hello Scott! The animal pictured in the marks looks like a Welsh Gwiber to me. Are the figures indeed salt & pepper shakers? Jersey IP: Logged |

They are shakers. I went looking for your Welsh Gwiber and stumbled upon something I think is a better fit.

Well Scott, could be if that works for you. Same family..maybe? Still doesn't answer the maker mark question, but at least we are on the right track for flying snakes or vipers! T'is a puzzlement! Jersey IP: Logged |
