[01-0797] Can someone help me with this pattern--maker and pattern name? I found a photo of this in an auction catalog where it was identified But an Arlington collector tells me it's not. I would like to know what it is? Thanks.

Hi there AWhyte, Nice looking piece. Your piece could be any one of a number of patterns. First thing to do is to look at the back and tell us what it says.. Once we know the maker it becomes fairly easy.. or better yet post a close up photo of the marks on the back and a description.. much easier.. Looking foward to helping out. Marc, I knew I should mention that there is no maker's mark--just forgot when writing. It is marked simply sterling and with the retailer's name of C.A.W. Crosby. Thanks! Adrienne [This message has been edited by awhyte (edited 09-03-2002).] IP: Logged |

Your spoon is a much more interesting pattern than Arlington, which is similar but features only one flower and leaf. The bowl brite cut engraving is consistent with some Towle patterns. Collectors and dealers find great pieces/patterns sometimes that defy definition but in no way diminishes the beauty. Your piece is lovely. If you see more of it before somebody accurately identifies it, but as soon as it has a name, pieces will cost more! Vi Walker IP: Logged |
