Welcome to ozfred who has recently begun participating in the Silver Salon Forums.

ozfred has done some interesting posts over the last few days including info about K G Markströms Goldsmith's Company, Marshall Field's Colonial Silver and a beautiful mystery box.

Fred co-authored an article with Will Chandler that appears in the November/December 2002 issue of Silver Magazine. It is a very informative and fun article that combines a history of the Walker & Hall firm of Sheffield with the background on a trinket box produced by them to commemorate the famous English play, Charley's Aunt. The article includes some wonderful images of both Charley's Aunt played by British actor William S. Penley and some great images of the Walker & Hall factory. After reading the article, I wanted to go get tickets to the next performance of the play, wherever it may be.

Dear June,

Thank you for the write up. I was very curious when I saw the title as how come Charley's Aunt came to be on the Forum.

Some time ago I was fortunate being able to purchase a Walker & Hall illustrated catalogue circa 1910. Then, when the box came my way there was the story ready for telling.

I read the rather visual play again, of course, and still enjoyed it so hope you can find a theater group who will run it next summer.

Regards,
OzFred.
