I have seen more junky 20th century plated coffeepots represented on eBay as solid silver than I would have thought possible. I think the trademarks of certain makers confuse the sellers. One time I bought a poorly pictured creamer that was represented as coin silver and it looked right (from the picture). It was really a 20th century silverplated reproduction creamer that looked far worse in person. Luckily the seller quickly refunded my $10. So I think the majority of such misrepresentation is honest and due to inexperience in the silver field. [This message has been edited by Paul Lemieux (edited 12-19-2003).] IP: Logged |

But the astounding thing is that it had an opening bid of $50 and someone bought it! IP: Logged |
