[01-2206] I have searched Hallmarks for 2 days and I cannot find this one although I believe it may be American since the insert appears to match my Lenox china. On the bottom is Sterling, the mark and a number 5. The 5 is not in a circle, square or hexagon, it stands alone. Also, I have used these many times for shrimp or crab meat cocktail, is this the correct use? I will greatly appreciate any information you have to give. Pictures -

Hi jackpot61, Look like sherbet dishes to me. The mark is actually a laurel wreath with a sword. It was used by Wilcox & Wagoner (NY, NY) from the late 1880s to around 1905 when the company was acquired by Watson & Newell (later Watson Co., Attleboro, MA), Watson used the mark from 1905-1929. Thank you very much for the description, these old eyes, even with magnification, could not see the sword. Thank you once more. IP: Logged |
