Following is a list of Silver Salon Forum members recommended web sites:

WEV recommends:
1. American Silversmiths
  A family tree of American Silversmith begining with William Moulton (1720-1793). More than 1000 Silversmiths including pewtersmiths, clockmakers, artists, and metal engravers.

Silver Lyon recommends:
1. silverteatongs.com
  A great website for those interested to learn about or share their knowledge on Tea Tongs (Sugar nips).

Clive E Taylor recommends:
1. Oldbaileyonline.org
  gives a wealth of information on the silver trade and silversmiths 1764 - 1800.
2. motco.com
  has both Horwoods and Roques maps of London and indices to the street names.
3. SHEFFIELD SILVER
  A series of superb articles on the Sheffield Silversmiths by Edward Law
4. Silver Sugar Tongs
  This compliments the Silver Tea Tongs site (above). Has a tremendous range of makers marks pictures. Almost exclusively English. I think members interested in English silver will love this new one - if only to dispute some of the attributions!

1. nobelantik.dk
  Danish maker marks from 1890-present (including comprehensive Georg Jensen) plus assayers from 1679-1988

swarter & Patrick Vyvyan recommends:
1. I've just come across a long (157 page!!!) document on Channel Islands silver published by the Jersey Heritage Trust. It's in PDF format which means you need Acrobat to open it.

Patrick Vyvyan recommends:
1. The Finial is the journal of the Silver Spoon Club of Great Britain. Seven past issues are completely on line with many articles on British silver.
