[01-2422] I'm going to take my first shot at posting a picture, and it may be a large failure. Please be patient. This is a couple pictures of a silver golf club that I made, at ONC, for the Myopia Hunt Club in Massachusetts. It was made to replace one they'd had for some time, but was stolen.
Good luck. Geoff IP: Logged |

Awhile ago at auction, I saw a putter of which the head was sterling. It was made by Shreve & Co. and I believe it was from the 1940s. I was going to buy it for my father, who plays golf, but forgot to bid. I think it still sold for less than many of the PGA pro-endorsed, titanium or graphite clubs on the market these days. RAF, No, I've never tried a driver. This is the only club I've ever made. This one is referred to as a cleek and I copied an old steel one supplied by the hunt club. I felt bad that they had me remove the shaft from the steel club(which was made in the late 19th century) and attach it to the silver one. The steel club was so nice, I felt it should have been kept whole and a new shaft made for the silver club head. But that wasn't my decision to make. We happened to have at hand some 1/2 inch thick stock when the order for the club came in. That stock had been ordered so that we could make some special, heavy solid handled knives for a designer in New York. The remaining piece was just enough to make the golf club. I had to cut off a third of it and solder that at an angle to the main portion, to get the club shape. IP: Logged |

Hi! Just thought I would pass this along. In going thru some older Tiffany Catalogs I noticed that they had for sale a Sterling Silver Golf Putter. Quite pricey I might add. Maybe it's for playing on Gold Grass! (Just kidding)! Jersey IP: Logged |
