[01-2609] Hi there.. I have a 'Whatisit' that I purchased with a group of merchandise. At that time, I thought it was sterling, but upon closer examination it turned out not to be., It is marked in a small circle "ART KRUPP BERNDOEF". and I know that they were (are) a good German manufacturer, but what would this piece have been used for.? The central portion is a pierced strainer. Thanks for your help and happy holidays. Marc

I looked through Ingrid Haslinger: Tafelkultur Marke Berndorf, Das niederoesterreichische Erfolgsunternehmen Arthur Krupps and your specific item is not pictured there but an item which is pretty similar and called a strainer for a cocktail shaker (page 120 - pattern and price book of A. Krupp). IP: Logged |
