Hi, everyone. I haven't posted in a long time, but was reading this mornings LA Times and thought of all of you. There is an excellent article about Rick White, who repaired my Kinsey Pitcher and did such an excellent job. This is not advertising. I have no connection with him other than wanting to share a neat article and satisfaction in the job he did for me. I removed the articles pictures:

A great article! At a glance, it looked too long to bother reading. But once I got started it was finished in no time. It's also nice to know that there's hope for silver even at its worst. IP: Logged |

Welcome back - we have missed you. Thanks for posting this - it is a good article, and he is a good silversmith and a nice person as well. He has fixed up a number of pieces for me. The text is on the newspaper's website, but they unfortunately did not reproduce the illustrations - they were not essential to the story, but it is always nice to see the faces of those involved. Here are the links to your two threads detailing your saga with your pitcher - they make good reading.: Would you repair this? and Before and After of Kinsey Pitcher Repair [This message has been edited by swarter (edited 06-27-2009).] IP: Logged |

The pictures are really excellent. One is of him repairing a teaset. One is of his wife polishing a victorian tilting water pitcher, one of little toothpick holders and another of him repairing the eye on a silver owl. I'm glad he got such a nice spread in the paper. By the way, since you linked the threads about the pitcher, it turns out that old Greenwood had quite a few children (genealogy research is almost as much fun as silver research) rather than just the one I originally thought he had.
