I've noticed something that has me curious...... Many silver polishes are Kosher Certified. What makes them Kosher? Is it only the Kosher label or is it something special about how the polish is prepared? IP: Logged |

It means that it is inspected by the Kashruth(council of rabbis) and is good for use at Passover. There is also dishwasher liquid, and many other products which have nothing to do with food. IP: Logged |

Kosher silver polish is polish that does not use any ingredients derived from kitniyos. My guess is as the silver polish touchs items that in turn touch food, the polish must not contain prohibited foods.

Do a web search for 'kosherquest'. This is a website started in 1997 and is reported to be the best, most complete source for info on what is kosher. They report no certification is required for silver polish. IP: Logged |
