Most pieces that I've seen have small enameled medallions on them with the name of the ship. Does anyone know if these were actually used on the ship or were gift shop purchases? Thanks IP: Logged
Kimo Posts: 1627 Registered: Mar 2003	posted 12-15-2010 04:30 PM Most of the silver objects I have seen with steamship company enamel medallions on them are gift shop souvenirs. The silver that seems to have been used by the ship tends to be silver plated hotelware with engraved markings. Sometimes I see sterling flatware and holloware from both steamship companies and Navy ships that seem to be the silver that was used in the senior officers' mess. Maybe others have seen some enamelled applied emblem silver used by the ship itself? IP: Logged
