The August newsletter of Historic New England brought the welcome news that this organization in charge of some 36 or so historic properties throughout the New England area ranging from the 17th through the 20th centuries has embarked on a program to place its 120,000 objects and more than one million archival items online in a worldwide electronic catalog. Since the numbers above include a great deal of historic silver, both at the properties themselves, and at a central storage facility in Haverhill, Massachusetts; this should vastly increase the item level knowledge of historic silver in the United States. 1. Public Silver Forums (open Free membership) - anyone with a valid e-mail address may register. Once you have received your Silver Salon Forum password, and then if you abide by the Silver Salon Forum Guidelines, you may start a thread or post a reply in the New Members' Forum.
