Many of us are aware of silver's antibacterial qualities, but can silver also cure malaria? Read this. It may be an additional reason for us to love silver. quote: IP: Logged |

Is there anything silver can't do? For a lot of older folks the first thing to touch them after they were born was silver. From Wikipedia: "Carl Credé is famous for introducing the use of silver nitrate eyedrops as an antiseptic for the prevention of ophthalmia neonatorum in newborns. He used a 2% silver nitrate solution, and first demonstrated its effectiveness in the early 1880s. During a three-year period, Credé treated 1160 newborns with silver nitrate, and only two infants developed ophthalmia. The silver nitrate solution is sometimes referred to as "Credé's prophylaxis" in medical literature. Later, the solution was diluted to 1% silver nitrate, and became a standard practice in obstetrics." Today I believe that antibiotics such as Oxytetracycline are used instead, although some "natural childbirth" advocates still prefer silver solutions. IP: Logged |

I wonder how Dr BM Hegde's water infused with silver differs from colloidal silver. Reminded me of this vintage post: Decorating cookies IP: Logged |

June, Dr. Hegde spoke of silver particles infused with water, not water infused with silver particles. I don't see how one can infuse solid silver particles with water. Does silver absorb water? middletom IP: Logged |

I think something is being lost in the translation... read gauze (as in bandage) for gauses, so perhaps there is a mix up with silver/water - water/silver? IP: Logged |

Malaria is not caused by a bacteria or virus - it is the result of a protozoa parasite infesting the body with concentrations in places like the liver. While colloidal silver can be effective in killing most one-celled organisms, the problem with the malaria protozoa is that it becomes spread throughout the body and once you are infected it would be difficult to get enough colloidal silver into your system for it to have an effect while not winding up becoming a problem in itself. I note they did not say why the Indian medical establishment would not allow this person to experiment on Indian citizens where malaria is a problem in about the third of the country and where a cure would be a very high priority.
