[01-2932] OK so maybe the title is a little ambitious but I am kinda excited. I just purchased a George III display cabinet and can;t wait to see it full of pieces from my collections. I thought I would post 2 photos of it empty and then post photos after I have it full. I plan on displaying a few silver, china and glass pieces and then rotate them from time to time. So if you have any ideas or suggestions, let me know. Full Size Picture: Close-up of Interior: (PS the interior is patterned silk that has faded (as you can see the difference on the bottom hidden shelf. Don't know if I will replace it or not at this point).

Hi - without being too cheeky, my suggestion for the back is mirror, for the bottom darkgreen felt. Easy to do but with an grandious effect on your silver and china. Regards IP: Logged |

OK Folks Here is my first try at displaying some pieces in my new cabinet:
After seeing the pictures, it looks kinda empty but in person it looks pretty full. I also just found the vinyl covered easels but haven't found any of the acrylic risers in town so I guess I'll have to order those or think of some other way to raise a few of the pieces to provide some height. I also need a way to display my bon-bon spoons and other special pieces of flatware. And after looking at it for a week, I really want to have the inside recovered. Postnikov, I think a mirrored back would be great but the way the cabinet is constructed, I don't think it will be possible. The other problem is the covering for the shelves are inset flush with the wood edges. I know there are some fabrics I can't use (ie wool) but was thinking of either blue silk or cotton velvet. So any comments, criticisms or suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated. Robert IP: Logged |

Spoons you handle in this way. A shellf for spoons. And I just saw that these in this need polish so I will do that now. Might be the paint that I used when I painted this old piece with 30 or 35 years ago. sad story IP: Logged |

I think you're off to a great start. Like the idea of blue silk. That will show off the silver quite nicely. IP: Logged |
