[26-1056] Great reflections Over the years I have seen and never cataloged some great eBay photos mistakes or fun oversights. Most often it is silver but sometimes it is things like a toaster where what is reflected in the silver is very funny or interesting. I remember the fellow who photographed his toaster in his BVD's neglecting to notice his reflection for all to see. The focus on these forums is silver so please share with us accordingly. If you find something that is too x-rated let me know and I will photo edit it into a PG-13 rating for you to post. IP: Logged |

I don't understand how that picture happened. The guy looks like he's sitting on a bed, but somehow there's a ceiling fan behind him? And the pitcher is on a blue cloth, but it's reflecting a white bed or ceiling? I'm so confused! PS: Perhaps the guy is WEV himself? Polly, I think it is an example of how NOT to photograph silver. I do not think Wev would be guilty of such a ..........! Scott thanks for the info on the maker. Jersey IP: Logged |

Golly... How do these things happen? When I was in the silver business, I did much of my company's advertising (photography & lay-out), so it was always of utmost importance to create the most visually pleasing images. Finer details of composition and perspective aside, the most significant concern with photographing silver (esp. holloware) is always to diminish the visibility of reflections and glare, and though it can at times be a logistical nightmare, do examples such as these really escape anyone's attention? Surely it couldn't be too difficult to find a better vantage-point, and just perhaps, do some minor touch-up with most any imaging software! These are amusing, though. IP: Logged |

There is I believe a saying in the advertising industry "all publicity is good as long as your name gets spelt right". I suspect that the same applies to these images - if it gets the product noticed - it's a good thing. IP: Logged |

From now on I try to make reflection photo's of my silver. Most interesting and it will give total information about the silver and his owner? IP: Logged |
