[01-3000]

I spent a most enjoyable morning at the LA County Museum of Art yesterday, taking in the Living in a Modern Way: California Design 1930-1965 exhibition. It was beautifully installed, with a rich and varied selection of objects. Silver work was well represented.

All very beautiful and interesting items, although the handles on the Macchiarini look a bit dangerous.

Thanks so much, wev. What a nice way to start off the year.

That candelabrum is my favorite. It is a knockout.

Love it - thanks, wev. Will the exhibit be travelling anywhere on the east coast. Would love to see it in person. Is there a catalog?

There are no plans for travel that I have seen. There is a very handsome 350+ page book/catalog with essays and pictures of many additional objects. It's a bit pricey ($60), but worth every penny if you've an interest in the period.

I agree the catalogue is fabulous. I bought mine on that large bookseller site for less than list price.
