[01-3010] This pitcher was brought in the other day for a repair and I wished to get a picture of it. I don't know when it was made but it was not spun on a lathe; rather it was made from a sheet of silver bent around and soldered with the seam down the side where the handle is. This was made long before Swift Barnes purchased the company, I would guess by Everett McBurnie. A few years ago I saw an ONC bowl on that auction site and it had been hand raised and of a style we haven't made in fifty years or more. This pitcher has a split in the solder seam and needs repairing.

Wow! That must have taken some really serious silversmithing talent and a lot of time to make a pitcher of that even quality from a sheet of silver. IP: Logged |
