I just noticed that our ISP is upgrading things on our servers. Since there was no announcement, I am not sure what it is they are doing. All I can say is I have had issues reaching the site and doing Forum maintenance. Hopefully the intermittent outages will be few and short. IP: Logged |

It may be my imagination but since they finished whatever they were doing the forum pages seem to load faster (not including remote images). This morning I used one of the online page loading testing tools using the main forum page. After 5 tests, over several minutes, the average load time was 1.38 seconds. The fastest time was 1.23 seconds; the longest was 2.12 seconds. Some of the changes they were doing reverted back to the original way so I expect they are not done. Since they never announced this, I expect we won't get an notice when they try again. IP: Logged |

Hi Scott: I am finding that photos associated with postings are very slow to upload or don't upload at all. Deirdre IP: Logged |

Deirdre, Thanks. Are you talking about third party hosted images (like from photobucket) or are you saying images hosted by SMPub.com? Please provide examples so I might see what you are seeing. Thanks for the help. IP: Logged |

I made a post yesterday from my iPhone that never showed so I posted it again after about 3 or 4 minutes. Of course then the first post appeared. This may just mean that phone posts are slower that others. IP: Logged |

ahwt, Thanks for the input. I don’t use an Iphone/smartphone so I don’t have any first hand experience. The forums don’t make any distinctions about the hardware members use. So it may be that your Iphone ISP was slow to the post to the forums. What is more likely is that the Iphone didn’t refresh its cache properly; so you were seeing the older page from cache and not the new page which caused you to post a second time. If someone has a better technical explanation please let us know. IP: Logged |
